It is one of the first coins to take its place in the Turkish economy in 1924.
Money has rusted over time as it is kept in humid environments. It is in a good condition. There are ‘’1 kurus’’ inscription and a drawing of a wheat spike on the side of the tails. On the side of the heads, the expressions of ‘’The Republic of Turkey’’ and ‘’1950’’ are included.
100 coins, 5 kurus and 10 kurus which are circulated in 1924 and made by Mesrur Izzet Bey, a Turkish sculptor, painter, coin, stamp and medal patternmaker who was also the designer of the Istiklal Medal, were printed as the first coins of the Republican era. The increase in value in these coins was followed by 25 kurus, which decayed in 1925 and was popularly called as the buffalo eye. In the early years of the Republic of Turkey, which changed both economically and socially, they took their place in people’s money bags.
