DESCRIPTION
There are two inscribed in Ottoman language fired bricks in our museum. Both of them are in a good condition. Since there is a writing on one side, it is understood that the buildings were not used as construction blocks on the surface. An inscription reminiscent of the figure ‘’300’’ in Ottoman language with the Ottoman expression ‘’Sheikh’’ and the star and crescent motive appears on it.
STORY
During the Ottoman period, the society lived in tolerance. The star and crescent motive in Ottoman architecture is seen since the 20th century. The reason for this was that the society longed for the great Ottoman past, and it has been the image of unity and gathering under the same roof on this occasion. We see these motives in almost all kinds of buildings in the architecture of the last period of the Ottoman Empire. For example, it was often used in the construction of mosques, zawiyas, mansions and even people’s own houses.
