There are no inscriptions or motives on or on the base of the rawhide sandal that we have. Deformations appear depending on its time. Since it is the leather, it has become very dry and quite hard due to the timeout. It has a fine seam on it and rough stitches on the inside at the base. Its base is flat base. It is glued with the help of glue. The rawhide sandal, which does not have any processing and motives on it, belongs to a lower class people of that period according to its flat and simple design.

The heroic Turkish people, who were in poverty, voluntarily flocked to the fronts during the Dardanelles war. Our heroes, who had two pennies to rub together, did not excuse the poverty and entered the lists wholeheartedly. Most of them did not even have military boot to wear on their feet. So they went to war with their rawhide sandals. Seeing this, the enemy learned the weak side of the Turks and attempted murder, which was considered a war crime at the time. ‘’Star Nails’’, which are also on display in our museum, were thrown from the plane into the path of our soldiers at nightfall. Our soldiers, who did not know about this incident, had suffered severe wounds as if they had stepped on a mine while walking around with only a rawhide sandal made of animal skin. Most of them were veterans and martyrs. This murder made not only our soldiers dysfunctional, but also the horses they rode. Based on this, we can better show the hard struggle of our martyrs and veterans who made history with their heroism in the history of the Turkish nation and the obstacles they have overcome for the sake of the motherland.
