DESCRIPTION
Gallipoli Star Badge; B.B. & Co. it is in a good condition. Made of nickel-plated brass, the medal has a five-pointed red star on the obverse, the ends of the star are closed with ball finials, and there is a showy crescent in the middle of it. In the inner bend of the crescent, there is a signature of the Ottoman Sultan Mehmed Resad. The enamel on one of the stars has fallen off. The pin on the back of the medal was severed and then repaired in a novice and rough manner. On the front of the medal, there is the Sultan’s signature and the date of its construction. “B.B. & .Co’’ inscription is written at its back.

War Medal is a military medal awarded by Mehmed Resad on March 1, 1915 for the first time to the soldiers of the Ottoman and Central Powers who showed outstanding courage and heroism on the Ottoman fronts in World War I. It is the last medal of the Ottoman Empire. This medal was given to the troops of the Ottoman and other Central Powers, mainly to those who fought on the Ottoman fronts during World War I.
