STORY
The field hospitals established by Hilal-i Ahmer were not content with just licking the wounds of our soldiers. At the same time, this place was like a soup kitchen. While the soldiers returning from the front were being treated here, they would also need to wash, feed and rest. The Ottoman Empire approached the records and archives very carefully and meticulously and created the world's largest and most comprehensive archive as a state archive. The registrars, who did not break the state tradition in case of war, continued their duties. The records of the soldiers and volunteers who participated in the war and were sent to the fronts were kept. This was also true for bringing wounded soldiers to hospitals. They would record and protect which part of the field hospital and in which bed the soldiers were treated. This artifact in our museum was attached to the head of the beds where the patients were treated, so that the medic who wanted to visit or take care of the wounded soldier could easily reach him.
