Jugs, formerly made of brass, silver, copper or even gold, are now generally made of aluminum and galvanic tin. The most widely used of today’s jugs are water and milk jugs made of aluminum. In the old days, the jugs were decorated with inlay, pen or calligraphy, and some with mercury star. Such jugs were an indispensable item of dowries.
