The first tools that humans developed to learn time date back to 5500 years ago. After that, more sensitive clocks such as sundial and hourglass emerged. The first clock resembling a tower clock today was made in Milan in 1335. Towards the end of the 14th century, wall clocks gradually began to appear. In 1511, the first pocket watch appeared. The process of the watch continued rapidly, and the first wristwatch appeared in 1868. During the Ottoman period, the chain watch was famous because of the chain found on a pocket watch. But at that time, since only the elders of society could buy these watches, the chain watch was also an item of vanity and prestige. In addition, although wristwatches were sold in our country at that time, men thought that these watches were special to women, such as bracelets, and continued to use chain pocket watches and chain pocket watches became known as men’s watches.
Usage: Because chain watches are a mechanical type of watch, they cannot work if they are not installed again when the power in the transmission runs out after a certain time, taking its power from its installation. The owner of these watches sets the clock at certain times with another clock and sets it with the help of a key or setup pin located on it. So it continues to show time until its power runs out.
