STORY
Mauser is a German rifle company. It was founded in 1874 by Paul Von Mauser for the purpose of producing rifles for the Prussian army. Gewehr 98 (Mauser) the standard infantry rifle of the German infantry from 1898 to 1935 is also the most famous product of this company. It is one of the most used rifles by the army of the Ottoman Empire and the Turkish Armed Forces in the early years of the Republic. These rifles were included in the inventory of the Ottoman Empire during the reign of Abdulhamid II. These rifles were for many years known by the brand name Mauser instead of the model name 98. For this reason, the phrase “Mauser Rifle” has been placed in Turkish. Modified Turkish mauser models were produced in Kirikkale during the Republican period.
