STORY
Copper, the first metal discovered after gold, enabled humanity to transition from the Stone Age to the Bronze Age. The initial findings of copper are found in 8000-7000 years B.C. and in the Anatolian region (Catalhoyuk, Konya). Initially, in the Anatolian region, copper was found pure in nature and shaped with a hammer and used to make tools and ornaments used in daily life. Copper, which has been used in the manufacture of various containers as well as weapons since the early ages, is still widely used today, including in the electrical and electronics industry. The object in our museum is a tinned copper deep (plate) with Ottoman motives on it. First of all, the inner round and then the outer round were poured into the mold and annealed, and then the two parts were formed by riveting them together. Since copper is a soft metal, the motives on it have been engraved and drawn with the help of a hard object.
